Spare Parts
In addition to the parts I kept through the restoration, I was given
spare parts from a friend who owns a P1800 and upgraded to a Weber
Carb. Also, I purchased a set of parts slated for a complete B20
Rebuild on a P1800 that never happened. The B20 could be rebuilt
and put in the PV. Or maybe you have a P1800 that needs a new
engine. Following is a list of what I have:
* FrigiKing AC System Including New Compressor – Originally on the PV
* B-20 Block, Balanced Crankshaft, Head, Oil Pan, Rocker Arm, Valve Cover
* For the B-20 – New Pistons (balanced), Rods, Main Bearings, Rod Bearings, Rings
* For the B-20 – New Clutch and Pressure Plate, Nuts & Bolts
* 2 Sets of SU Carburetors and Many SU Replacement / Rebuild Parts
* 4 Bosch Distributors
* Generator
* Many Other Misc. Parts
100% Disclosure
This is one of the nicest PV’s you will find on the road.
It is not restored completely to original condition. Rather, it
has many upgrades. It is ready to be showed or used as a daily
driver. Some of the body rubber (such as the fender guards) has
cracks. The connection from the original brake fluid reservoir
leaks slightly where connected to the master cylinder. However,
the new master cylinder has a reservoir of its own (so if it is leaking
you know it’s full). The AMP light comes on making me
believe the generator is not functioning properly. If I were
keeping the car I would upgrade it to an Alternator system (kits are
readily available). The gasket coming off of the exhaust manifold
to the exhaust pipe needs to be replaced (two bolts and I have the
gasket). There are some slight cracks in the hub caps and a small
dent in the rear view mirror. The body has a couple of very minor
scratches that have been touched up. I have all the parts,
upgraded the hoses, bought a new compressor, but never was able to get
the AC system to work properly. The heater motor is making noise,
but needs to be repaired or replaced. The headliner was
refinished but has about 3 slight tears that have been taped to prevent
further tearing. There is a slight oil leak that seems to
becoming from the valve cover. All of the above items could be
fixed with a few weekends in the garage.
